Britney Spears had officially lost her head…or the hair off the top of it at least. On Friday, BritneySpears went to a California salon and requested the owner shave her head. The stylist, Esther Tognozzi, refused to do the head shaving in case Britney Spears later regretted what her new bald look would do for her career.

Britney Spears then grabbed the electric hair clippers herself and - with cameras watching, of course - shaved her own hair off leaving her head totally bald. Britney Spears then went to a local tattoo parlour where she sat with her new bald head and got some new tattoos.

All of this took place on the same day that Britney Spears was reported to have checked herself in and then back out of rehab.  We smell this year’s mother of the year candidate.

Hugh Grants publicty machine have announced that Hugh Grant has split from his long term girlfriend Jemima Khan.  The news was broken in the American magazine People when Hugh Grant’s publicist Robert Garlock said, “Hugh and Jemima have decided to split amicably.

Speculation of troubles in the relationship had been growing lately  when questions about marriage were dodged and the couple were cold to each other at the recent premier of Hugh Grant’s latest film Music and Lyrics.

Reports in today’s papers are strongly suggesting that Prince Harry is soon to see himself deployed to Iraq. Prince Harry is 22 years old and a Second Lieutenant in the Household Calvary.

Prince Harry would see himself sent to Basra where he will join another 7,000 British troops that are already stationed in that part of Iraq. Measures are reportedly being taken so that Prince Harry’s presence in Basra doesn’t put the other troops around him at greater risk by making in a special target for the enemies.

A California judge decided yesterday to lift the hold on the release Anna Nicole Smith’s body yesterday. There had been an order for her body to be kept until February 20th but as all the DNA needed for the forthcoming paternity battle over Anna Nicole’s infant daughter had been collected it was decided there was no reason to hold her body any longer.

This frees up Ann Nicole’s body for a funeral and burial to take place. There were some concerns over holding an open casket funeral because Anna Nicole Smith’s body hadn’t been embalmed but friends are saying a “proper burial” will take place.

Meanwhile, details of Anna Nicole Smith’s will were revealed by her lawyer, and one of the main claiming to be the father of her daughter Dannielynn, Howard K Stern. According to Stern, previous to her son Daniel’s death in September 2006, Anna Nicole’s will had given all of her possessions and money to Daniel. Howard K Stern said that after Daniel’s death Anna Nicole Smith had her will altered and now as the only remaining child Dannielynn will receive everything.

We know that every child is precious but Dannielynn is set to be worth a fortune. We certainly hope it doesn’t become as much of a curse for her as it has for the rest of her family.

We certainly hope it isn’t true but earlier this week at the Elle Style Awards in Camden, London alarms were raised over possible self harm issues surrounding Amy Winehouse.

The smokey voiced singer was posing for pictures with Kelly Osbourne when photographers noticed what they called “slashes down her arm”. They said the one slash in particular looked very recent. Combined with Amy Winehouse’s recent drastic weight loss there is understandably growing concern for her state of mind.

We very much hope that Amy Winehouse isn’t self harming. Not only would we not want anyone to be in the mental trap that comes with being a cutter but we also would hate to see one of the most talented woman in recent British music to waste her talent and trash her career and life.

He has been there before but yesterday, on his 33rd birthday, Robbie Williams checked himself into rehab. Robbie first sought help for drug related problems in 1995 after his departure from Take That and then again in 2004 when he jokes that Elton John kidnapped him and forced him into rehab.

Now in 2006, just when Take That is becoming a hit act again, Robbie Williams is once again in drug rehab.  This time the rehab is for treatment for addiction to prescription  medication.  Robbie’s mother said that going into rehab on his birthday was the best gift her son could have given to himself.

By all accounts it is Robbie Williams’s fight with depression that drove him to start taking prescription pills and led him to his current level of addiction.  According to The Sun, Robbie’s daily addiction routine included the highly controversial anti-depression medication Seroxat, which has been linked to suicidal tendencies in teenagers.  In addition to the medications, Robbie also included  36 double espressos, 60 cigarettes and 20 cans of Red Bull in his daily routine. 

We certainly wish Robbie the best of luck and seriously, and with sarcasm, hope that when he returns to health his music will return to top form.

This were a bit different at this year’s BAFTA awards in comparison to past years. Gone were the leopard skin seats of the Leicester Square Odeon and the classic British wit of Stephen Fry and instead the stars of the UK and Hollywood were dazzled by the grand surroundings of the Royal Opera House and the somewhat lesser wit of Jonathan Ross. Still, the BAFTA red carpet was continued to go from strength to strength with stars coming from all corners of the celebrity globe to attend to BAFTA awards ceremony.

Daniel Craig was without a doubt the most striking of the male actors to grace the red carpet on the night. Sadly for Daniel, the latest Bond film, which was the first to be nominated for a BAFTA, only picked up one award on the night despite being nominated for nine awards. The award it did win was a technical award for sound but nonetheless it is hard to deny Daniel Craig’s success as the new Bond.

The same could not be said for the British film “The Queen”, which picked up a number of awards including best picture and best actress for Helen Miren who looked suitably regal on the BAFTA red carpet before the ceremony.

The other big winner of the night was “The Last King of Scotland” which won best British film and best actor for Forest Whitaker. Paul Greengrass took best director for United 93, a film about the film that crashed into a Pennsylvania field on September 11, 2001.

Overall this year’s BAFTAS ceremony was more serious than past years but it is hard to think that the loss of the classic British wit of Stephen Fry was a mistake. That sense of whimsy is what made the awards feel British and set the ceremony apart from the dozens of other awards ceremonies in the awards season. Hopefully next year the British film awards will feel British again.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that baby Dannielynn no longer has a mother after Anna Nicole Smith died but after Anna Nicole’s death the rumours about who is Dannielynn’s real father have been flying fast and furious.  Even before the death of Anna Nicole Smith there was much doubt about who the father was but in the days after the death of Anna Nicole people are coming out of the woodwork to claim to be the father of Dannielynn.

It would be nice to think that all these men are claiming to be Dannielynn’s father because they loved her and wanted to give her a good life. However, with the massive fortune that the infant looks to inherit from the estate of her mother’s rich ex-husband it is hard to not think there are other motives involved.

Anna Nicole Smith’s former personal attorney and recent partner, Howard K. Stern is still claiming to be the father.  Stern’s claims are alongside the claims from Anna Nicole Smith’s former partner Larry Birkhead who also claims to be Dannielynn’s father. Larry Birkhead is so determined to prove he is the father of Dannielynn that he is said to have asked for DNA from Anna Nicole Smith’s corpse to be taken in case it is needed in a future paternity case.

In addition to these two men that have been claiming parentage of Dannielynn for some time the past few days has also seen the husband of  Zsa Zsa Gabor come out and claim he had a decade long affair with Anna Nicole Smith.  He is saying that because of this affair he thinks that he is the father of Dannielynn.

Now, there is an even more amazing claim about who the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby may be.  A number of sources are claiming that it is possible that Anna Nicole Smith used the frozen sperm of her dead husband to conceive Dannielynn.

Anna Nicole Smith’s own sister has said that she thinks that Anna Nicole used the frozen sperm of J. Howard Marshall  - who she married when he was very elderly - to become pregnant with his baby.  If this turns out to be true it would be cemented Dannielynn’s claim on J. Howard Marshall’s money.

This is going to roll on and on and on.

Perhaps on her next shopping trip Victoria Beckham should pick up a copy of How to Win Friends and Influence People. David is preparing for his new job at the American football team LA Galaxy and that means moving the whole family to Hollywood.

Of course with the Beckham’ss that doesn’t just mean moving the wife and kids because they have all their minders that they want to move over to the States with them. However, just like the UK, the United States has immigrations laws that requires somebody coming in for work to show why one of their own citizens couldn’t do the job.

The American government feels that there are plenty of Americans that are fully capable of being minders for the Beckham family. After all, they are moving to Hollywood where every actor of any note has professional minders. Yet, Victoria says she only trusts her own minders and can’t see trusting new ones from America.

Yeah, that is a great way to make the American public fall in love with her. Tell them that you can’t trust them to do what they do for far more famous people everyday. After all, can you just imagine the reaction if an American celebrity wife came over to London and publicly stated she didn’t trust British people? She sure trusts the American money enough.

America and the world was stunned - but perhaps not overly shocked - yesterday by the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith.

Anna Nicole Smith was found unresponsive in her Florida hotel room by her own private nurse.  She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead just five months after giving birth to her daughter Dannielynn.  Her adult son also died shortly after the birth of Dannielynn.

The father of Dannielynn has yet to been determined as Anna Nicole Smith resisted paternity tests.  This would be bad enough for any baby suddenly found to be without a mother but since Anna Nicole hadn’t yet been granted access to the fortune of her elderly ex-husband that means that Dannielynn is a baby that is worth a fortune.

An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of Anna Nicole’s death but there is a feeling that her sad death is only the beginning of the games that will surround that poor little girl.
