Since then, the pair have rarely been out of the British tabloid magazines and are even currently appearing in an ITV series where they inflict themselves on the public of the United States.

Prince Charles has never been one to shy away from making controversial statements. Today during his annual May day summit, Prince Charles spoke to British business leaders and told them of his view that it is vital for businesses to go green. He told them that he feels the doomsday clock for the environment is ticking - he gave it less than 100 months before it is too late to act. Most controversially, Prince Charles stated that it is more important for business to sort out the so-called ‘climate crunch’ was more important than sorting out the credit crunch.
Even many who may agree with the basic message that Prince Charles gave may well question if a man of such wealth is any position to be telling the recession strapped country that the economy isn’t at least of equal importance. Still, nobody can deny his passion for the environmental cause.
If you follow The Apprentice then by now you must have noticed how annoying Debra from The Apprentice has become. There is just something about her that thinks it is okay to speak down to just about everybody that comes across her path. On last night’s episode of The Apprentice her vile attacks included snapping a number of times at Sir Alan Sugar’s right hand man, Nick. Sir Alan had finally had enough of it and gave Debra a real dressing down right there in the boardroom. He didn’t fire her but it was still great to watch Debra from The Apprentice get told off. Just watch her face. It is like she is sucking lemons.
Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick have announced that they are expecting twins. However, you may have noticed that Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t look very pregnant. That is because the couple are having their twins through the use of a surrogate mother. They already have a son and had been trying to conceive but apparently decided to go with a surrogate. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick say that they expect the birth of their twins to take place in the summer and they have already announced that they will be twin daughters. Expect those girls to have a whole lot of fashion attention on them almost from birth.
We may now know why Mel Gibson’s wife finally filed for divorce. The Sun is reporting that Mel Gibson’s girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, has been telling people that she is pregnant. Apparently, it was shortly after Oksana Grigorieva pregnancy rumours started to circulate in Hollywood social circles that Robyn Gibson filed for divorce. One does have to wonder how knocking up another woman outside of marriage - let alone divorce at all - sits with Mel Gibson’s famed strict catholic views? Suddenly, the way that Mel Gibson has treated gay characters in his films throughout the years feels more like a case of a sinner that shouldn’t be casting the first stone.
The on screen chemistry between Dev Patel and Freida Pinto was so strong in Slumdog Millionaire that rumours of the pair dating off screen began to fly very early on. Now, after months of dodging questions about if they are dating in real life, it would appear that Dev Patel and Freida Pinto are indeed dating. Dev Patel’s mother spoke to the Daily Mirror and gushed about how the pair are ‘very much an item’. Like a typically proud mother, she told the paper how ever since Slumdog came out things have been going from strength to strength for Dev Patel and now that includes an official romance with Freida Pinto.
It doesn’t really feel that long ago since Lee Mead was fighting for the role of Joseph on the BBC talent contents Any Dream Will Do. It now appears that not only did Lee Mead win the most important role of his life on the show but he also met his wife. Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead have been dating for over a year now and now they are apparently man and wife. Reports are that the pair flew off to the Seychelles and tied the knot in a secret and understated ceremony. Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead got married with their family around them but without any of the other typical media attention that so often comes with celebrity weddings these days. Hats off to the pair for simply wanting to get married and not flaunt their wedding all over the tabloids for cash.
Say what you will about Frank Lampard on and off the field but the Chelsea football player has shown that he is not at all afraid to stand up for himself. James O’Brien, a presenter on London radio station LBC 97.3, was hosting a call in show and putting forth his view that Frank Lampard is low life scum. The accusation was based on claims made in tabloid newspapers from Elen Rives, the mother of Frank Lampard’s two daughters. They have been in the middle of a high profile split and she had claimed that that football star is living in a mansion while he forces her and the children to live in a small flat.
Frank Lampard’s sister was listening to the radio show and alerted him to the names being thrown at him by James O’Brien. Apparently, James O’Brien simply was doing this on the wrong day because it turned out to be the one year anniversary of the death of Frank Lampard’s mother. He simply wasn’t going to take it any longer and picked up the phone and called into the radio station to confront James O’Brien live on air.
What follows is the audio of the entire phone call from Frank Lampard to LBC 97.3. He starts off trying to politely put the record straight because the claims of the way he has treated his children. Then it comes out that James O’Brien was basing his entire claims fully on a tabloid story. That is where Frank Lampard - rightfully - loses it and goes on major rant. James O’Brien fails to apologize for calling a man scum based solely on tabloid reports.
Listen to the call. In my view Frank Lampard did a fantastic job of standing up for himself and his family. James O’Brien comes out as a rubbish ‘journalist’.
Susan Boyle has been adjusting to life in the global limelight. The stand out performer from Britain’s Got Talent has taken a lot of rather public jibes about her appearance. Apparently, she didn’t like the look of her own hair when she say herself back on the show. So, Susan Boyle went down to her hairdresser and had her hair dyed brown. There is simply no crime in covering up her grey but Susan Boyle still managed to show up on the cover of British tabloids.
Now, it appears that Amanda Holden isn’t happy that Susan Boyle has made changes to her appearance. Watch this clip and see how Amanda Holden says that ‘they’ talked about it and decided not to give Susan Boyle a makeover until after her possible win of Britain’s Got Talent.
A few things about that stand out for me. Firstly, we have a very well groomed woman such as Amanda Holden, who got a lot of her fame on the back of her looks, telling this woman she shouldn’t even be able to cover up her grey when the whole world is being as harsh as possible about her appearance. Then, you have the idea that she would have to get some sort of approval from a panel of three judges - two of which are middle aged men - in order to have her hair cut. Finally, there is the notion that they are planning to make over Susan Boyle at all.
Surely the whole point of the shock the judges were given was that what a person looks like on the outside has very little at all do do with the quality of their singing voice?
Miley Cyrus and her Hannah Montana character may very well already be storming up the US box office but the film has only just had its London première. The British fans of Hannah Montana weren’t going to miss the chance to show their idol their appreciation and came out to the Leicester Square premier in their droves. Young, very young, and older alike crowded into the square to get a look at Miley Cyrus as she walked the red carpet. They screamed as loud as they possibly could while Miley Cyrus strutted her stuff and did the required interviews in a rather interesting and fetching short platinum dress.
